Lamed     l & L

Lamed, the 12th letter, (like the Latin/Roman L) has the image of the shepherd's staff used to save, protect, and direct the shepherd's sheep. Yeshua is the Good Shepherd, who lays down his life for his sheep to save them (Jhn 10:11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18; Psm 23:1, 2, 3, 4). He knows his sheep, and they follow after him (Jhn 10:27). The Good Shepard's staff of salvation, protection, and direction to those who hear and follow is the Word of the Lord, written through men from the 12 Tribes of Yisra'el, the Church of priest to the Lord (Ex 19:5, 6; Rev 1:5, 6); whom the gentiles, the other fold (of sheep), are brought into as one flock (Isa 42:6; 49:6; Jhn 1:1, 2, 3, 4, 14; 10:16; Zech 2:10, 11). The Word of the Lord is about the Lord and his covenant relationship with Yisra'el and their descendants as he is the Lord of Avraham (Abraham), Yitschaq (Isaac), and Ya'aqov (Jacob) who the Lord calls Yisra'el (Gen 17:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7; Ex 3:6; Gen 32:28). The Seed that would strike/overcome the Serpents head was promised to Abraham and came forth from the fourth son of Yisra'el's 12 sons, who became the 12 tribes of the one body of Yisra'el (Gen 3:15; 22:17, 18). With the Word being given from the Lord to men of Yisra'el (All scripture written by Jews) to write the Hebrew and Aramaic text with consonants only (Hebrew of Scripture) while memorizing the vowels, Yisra'el is then a part of the foundational body of the Word that is alive (2 Tim 3:16; Heb 4:12). It is the 12 Tribes of Yisra'el who are a tabernacle of men (2x6) who are called to be priest of the Lord to carry the Word to the world. They became the feet that carried the Word to the world when the Word, Yeshua, was born (3x4) from the tribe of Yehudah (Judah) into the world (Mt 1:1, 2). And, all those who are reborn in spirit in the Name of Yeshua being one body in Christ, whether Jew or Gentile, are commissioned as the one body of Yisra'el to bring the Word of G‑d's love to the world; that is G‑d's love shown through his Son, Yeshua, and his death and resurrection from the dead to save men (women inclusive) from the death of sin by adoption into the Lord's family by believing Yeshua is their Lord/G‑d and Savior (Jhn 3:5, 6; Rom 1:16; Mt 28:18, 19, 20; Jhn 3:16, 17, 18; Rom 10:9, 10).

The Word of the Lord, the Door, became flesh (Jhn 1:1, 14); and so, the beginning form of Lamed is seen as the bent right etsba'ot (fingers) formed into a Wav (see hand position for Wav); as all the 4 etsba'ot (see Dalet) are divided into 12 sections to represent the 12 Tribes of Yisra'el from whom the Shepard's body comes from. And so, the 12 doors into New Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) are inscribed with the names of the 12 Tribes of Yisra'el (Rev 21:12). The Shepherd then appointed 12 Lambs (Apostles) to be formed into the foundation of the Body (Church Family), that in their following their Shepherd they would lead the rest of the flock. And so, the foundation of the new tabernacle, the New Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), has 12 foundational stones with the names of the 12 Lambs inscribed upon them (Rev 21:14). Theses 12 stones point toward the 12 stones worn upon the heart of the High Priest inscribed to mark the 12 Tribes of  Yisra'el, who the Lord made foundational in bringing forth the new body/tabernacle of the sacrificial Lamb of G‑d and his righteousness upon the world (Ex 28:21; 39:14). This foundation is established just as the Sun's and the Moon's (both Sun & Moon represent Yeshua) path of direction establishes 12 constellations as foundational; or as the Moon's path around the Sun and Arets (Earth) establishes 12 months as foundational; or as man's body, made in the image of the Lord, has 12 foundational ribs on the right and on the left, which are also each in the form of the letter Lamed filled up with the air of the lungs. This is as the Lord the Spirit indwells the Body of Believers in Yeshua inscribing upon their hearts/mind the Word that saves, protects, and directs their lives (Jer 31:33; Jhn 14:26).

The final form of Lamed is the image of the staff of the outer right ear (helix) containing a Wav that appears as a rod, for the tools of trade for the shepherd are the staff and the rod (Psm 23:1, 2, 3, 4). It is in hearing the Word that brings faith (Rom 10:17), for we must listen to the Lord our Shepherd and truly hear his Word in order to follow his voice and be filled with the Spirit to do the will of our Lord in Shamayim (Heaven[s]) (Mt 11:15). And, just as the rod protects the sheep from their enemies, so our Shepherd the Word, who is the Rod, will protect his flock from their enemies snatching them with the yoke of the staff if needed.

Teaching by a yoke is to teach by example, as when two animals are yoked together, with the inexperienced led by the master (Mt 11:29, 30). The yoke of Yeshua's staff provides the direction to fulfill the Instruction/Law of the Word. Yeshua's example as the Shepard is to serve others and lay down his life in perfect love as a sacrificial lamb that we would in turn love the Lord with all our heart/mind, with all the life in our flesh, with all our strength, and love/serve others as the Lord has loved/served us (Jhn 15:13; Dt 6:5; Lev 19:18; Mt 22:37, 38, 39, 40; Jhn 13:13, 14, 15). It is as the believer hears the Spirit sent by the Shepherd and does what is heard by the guidance of the Spirit that the believer's acts of love fulfill the Instruction/Law in perfect righteousness apart from the flesh of the body, which only produces unrighteousness in sin (Rev 3:22; Jhn 16:13; Luk 8:15; Isa 64:6; Rom3:20, 21, 22; 8:3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).
