Bayit     B

The 2nd Hebrew letter is Bayit. It has the meaning of house/tent/tabernacle and is an image of a 2 room home/tent/tabernacle where the LORD, Creator of Shamayim (Heaven[s]) and ‘Aretz (Earth), has communion/fellowship with mankind (Ex 29:42, 43) [H1004, H1005] [ref]. It looks like the English/Roman capital letter ‘B’ and sounds like a ‘B.’ On the 2nd day of Creation, the LORD brought forth an expanse (sky/heaven) from between the waters on ‘Aretz that divided the waters into 2 parts to provide a home/tabernacle for mankind, just as the Bayit (B) has 2 rooms with a division in between (Gen 1:6, 7, 8).

The Tabernacle above can be understood as two rooms of a single house or as two houses joined together. The Tabernacle is a tent/house of the Lord with the inner rear tabernacle/room called the Holy of Holies and the outer tabernacle/room called the Holy Place (Heb 9:2, 3). The entrance of the Tabernacle is to the east in the direction of the rising of the Sun & Moon, and the rear of the Tabernacle is to the west in the direction of the setting of the Sun & Moon (1 Kgs 6:16; Ex 26:22). Behind the door/curtain, that is between the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies, is where the Ark & the Covenant is located and covered with the Kaporet (the lid of the Ark of the Covenant) (Ex 26:33, 34). On top of the Kaporet is a place for the LORD’s glory, between the wings of two carved cherubim (type of angels) (Ex 25:20, 21, 22; Heb 9:5). On Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement, the 10th day of the 7th Jewish month), blood (which gives life, Gen 9:4; Lev 17:11) from the sacrifice (symbolizing YESHUA/JESUS the Lamb) of the Altar (the Cross) was cast upon the Kaporet to atone for the sins of those who accept the marriage covenant of being one with the LORD and HIS family (Lev 16:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34). Bayit also has the meaning of the family who is of the tabernacle/tent/home [H1004]. So, it is the Family of the LORD who enters and becomes one with the LORD and HIS House/Tabernacle being made holy and cleansed from sin by the blood of YESHUA/JESUS, the perfect LAMB of GOD, WHO was sacrificed on the Cross for those who receive/believe in YESHUA/JESUS (Isa 53:5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12; Heb 10:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19; Jhn 1:12). Just as English has the two forms of “B” & “b” for the letter B, Bayit has two forms. For our Hebrew letters, we will call the capital form the “first form” and the small letter form will be called the “final form.” The final form of Bayit, the cubed holy of holies, will be explained later as we continue, as will most of the letters.
